About Emerge Center in Xenia, Ohio
Founded in June 2021 by three entrepreneurs with successful businesses in the skilled trades, The Emerge Center was created to address two major societal issues: The workforce shortage in the skilled trades and the increasing needs for young people aging out of foster care and those battling addictions to lead healthy and productive lives.
We wanted to transform lives in our communities by creating a space where collaboration is fostered between clinical recovery services, workforce development, fair chance employers, and community initiatives. Because all of these initiatives tend to serve the same demographic, and yet struggle working together for the benefit of those in need, we sought to bring them all together into one space. Bringing all this together and opening lines of communication is benefiting not only those in need, but also the organizations trying to serve them.
With our centralized location near Xenia, Beavercreek, Yellow Springs, and Fairborn, Emerge Center provides the atmosphere to create a new life and establish a new career course capable of supporting a family.
Our Mission
To change lives and communities by fostering collaboration between clinical recovery services, workforce development, fair chance employers, and community initiatives
Our History
In 2021, our founders purchased the former Greene County Career Center at an auction with a vision of using the campus to make a positive impact on our communities. That vision is coming true today at The Emerge Center, where we offer a unique blend of workforce development, job training and recovery services that make our mission one of a kind. This campus is home to a workforce catalyst to expand their second chance employer model and home for comprehensive services for men and women in recovery and future services for youth as they age out of the foster care system.
Located at 2960 W. Enon Road in Xenia Township, between Fairborn, Beavercreek, and Xenia, the Emerge Center includes four buildings, all built between 1967 and 2003, with recent renovations. In August of 2020, the Greene County Career Center moved to a new facility on Innovation Drive. Later, in March of 2021, Kip Morris of Five Star Home Services, Chris Adams of Narrow Path Plumbing and Doug Van Dyke of Van Martin Roofing came together at auction to purchase the facility and transform it into what it is today.
Today, our large multi-functional commercial property features 44 acres with four buildings totaling around 290,000 square feet indoors. The main building had additions and remodeling done in 2000 and 2012. It’s roughly 220,000 square feet indoors with seven large high-bay shops, more than 50 classrooms and multi-purpose rooms, three large commercial kitchens, 13 bathrooms, a large cafeteria and auditorium, and many private offices and related spaces. We are home to a variety of businesses, including Arise Cafe, Five Star Home Services, Van Martin Roofing, SB3 III, Right Way Renovations, Digital Watchman LLC, and more. We are also home to our local non-profit, Emerge Recovery & Trade Initiative.
Our second building, previously known as the Adult Education Center, was built in 1996. It is in great condition and includes 14,000 square feet with front reception offices and 13 large and small classrooms, offices, and multi-purpose rooms. Today it houses clinical recovery services for Emerge.
The two remaining buildings, built in 1975 and 1979, include two steel storage buildings of 12,250 square feet primarily used for maintenance and storage.
Since taking over the facility, renovating it and opening the Emerge Recovery & Trade Initiative, our team at The Emerge Center has been very busy these past few years forming community partnerships and business partnerships while expanding the services we offer and looking ahead to the future.
We are honored at the outpouring of support we’ve received from local elected officials and community leaders and area churches. Working together, we believe, the sky is the limit!
